San Francisco is a city which has a great reputation for offering some of the wildest and most exciting nightlife in the USA. Thanks to its long history as a fairly liberal place, San Francisco is well known as the Gay capital of America, and offers many fabulous clubs where there is plenty of great music and entertainment along with friendly people.

San Francisco has a vast student population thanks to the presence of Berkeley and Stanford as well as several minor colleges, and this means that the average age of the population is quite young. Here on the steeply sloping streets you will find main bohemian drinking venues that offer a completely different side of the city which really harks back to the golden age of the 1960s when the summer of love took place in the city.
